I've learned a lot about photography in the three months I've had my Etsy shop, about good lighting, sharp focus, how to use props, and how to crop my photos to make them even more attractive. I know I have a lot more to learn yet -- when I look at other shops that have really awesome photography, I sometimes despair a little. But I keep trying, nonetheless. In fact, I'm starting to take new photos of some of my earlier listings, so that they look more interesting and appealing. For example, here's a comparison of an old photo and a new one for this hat:
See? I'm improving a little, anyway.

Hi, your 2nd photo is very good, and I like the colours in the 1st one too. Did you see the link about making a like box in the forums? I made one today and hope to submit a couple of new listings using it soon. I have retaken my pics a bunch of times, you can tell the old from the new ones in my store.
ReplyDeleteHere's the link for the light box..

You're definately improving. I feel my own have stagnated, especially since I have no model now. And Topsy Turvey's pics make me wanna cry. Sigh....I'll get there.

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYou've been tagged to play a MeMe game, list 8 random things about yourself and tag 8 other people. Come to my blog to check it out!
Bird Lady -- I've read about light boxes before, but I'm not a big fan of the "infinite" look, like the object is floating in space. But I may experiment with them sometime.
ReplyDeleteKnitsational -- I know what you mean about stagnating. I'm struggling to find new and interesting ways to photograph a baby hat.
Sai Charan Deeti -- thanks for the compliment!
