Finally -- Facebook!

I have finally made a page for my shop on Facebook. I know, I know, took me long enough, right? But better late than never. My page is here, and I'll be posting all kinds of stuff there. Like what? Like new items when I list them in my shop, a link every time I post here on my blog, news about sales I run, treasuries I create or am in -- all kinds of stuff. You can even request custom items by posting on my wall! And who knows, I might even run a giveaway for my FB fans only. Anyway, it'll be the quick and easy way to stay up to date on everything Huggermugger! And you can "like" me right from here by using the handy-dandy tool in my sidebar.

In other news, I'm all excited because I've sold enough items since Thanksgiving that I will be able to buy my very own yarn ball winder and swift! If you don't know what those are, here are a couple pics. Basically, any time I buy awesome yarn that's sold in hanks instead of a ball or center-pull skein, I have to wind it up into a ball in order to use it. Which takes a looooong time by hand. But with a winder, it takes a matter of minutes. You loop the yarn hank around the swift, then attach one end to the winder and crank the little handle, and before you know it, you have a beautiful, center-pull yarn cake. Wooo! I can't wait.

  1. Yay! They're so much fun. Did you order yours from Knit Picks? I meant to get back to you about the fb thing but I see you figured it out. I really haven't had the time to mess with it too much so I'm not sure about effectiveness but, you know, it's on my post holiday to-do list (which is crazy long, of course). We opened the ornaments and *love them*! Thanks!

  2. Actually, my local yarn store has them for about the same price as the ones on Knit Picks, so unless they're out of them when I go there next week, I plan to buy them there, support a local business, etc.

One of my Etsy friends has had huge success with her FB page -- she said her orders have nearly doubled since she got involved in it. I'm actually hoping my orders don't double, but I'm sure I won't be spending as much time with it as she does hers, so I figure a few more sales here and there will make it worth it.

Glad you love the ornaments! I saw you'd hearted a set in my shop a while ago and had to grin because I was already planning to give you some :-D

  3. Hi! I'm a fellow busy mom of etsy, and I also LOVE yarn! I taught myself to crochet when I was pregnant with my fifth child last year, and soon became addicted! My shop is and I make all-natural soaps! I also have a brand-new blog (which is a big deal, since two weeks ago I didn't own a computer). It is (I don't know how to do a link :( and I would love it if you visited!

  4. um...totally did not mean to be anonymous; see I'm hopeless with technology. My name is Brandi and I am the proud mama of five boys, soapmaker, crocheter, new blogger, and brand-new at etsy!

  5. Hi, Brandi! Wow, five boys. How fun! Your shop looks like it's off to a great start -- what yummy soaps! Welcome to blogging, Facebook, Etsy, and the BusyMoms team! It's great to "meet' you.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay and chat, won't you?
