Giving Away a Sunflower Baby Toy

Can you believe it's Tuesday already?  Yesterday, my hubby stayed home because he pulled a muscle in his neck and couldn't turn his head at all -- he held it cocked at an angle like a curious little puppy all day long, which was cute, but not at all safe for driving to work, hee.  So today now feels like Monday to me, as yesterday I had help around the house (sorta) and got to spend lots of time out in the garden (will try to blog about that later).

Apropos of it still feeling like Monday to me, here's a link to my friend Julie's Monday Meltdown Giveaway over on her blog.  This week, she's giving away something that looks very familiar... cuz it's from me!  We're offering a ready-made sunflower from my new pattern for either a sunflower or daisy that I recently added to my shop.

We're also offering the crochet pattern as a PDF file, so go follow this link for a chance to win!

Darn Good Yarn

Speaking of yarn, here's another awesome place to buy some:  DarnGoodYarn.com.  All the yarn there is recycled, made from things like banana fibers, newspaper, and recycled sari silk.  They also sell patterns and ready-made items.  Look at these yarns:

Recycled Sari Silk Yarn
Banana Fiber Silk Yarn
Reclaimed Cotton Yarn
According to the Darn Good Yarn newsletter, they saved more than 6,000 pounds of waste from landfills in 2011 alone by recycling things into yarn  And right now they're giving away $75 of their yarn to one lucky person.  Might be you, might be me... let's find out!

Loophole Yarn from Six Skeins

I won a giveaway last week!  The Made With Love U.K. blog offered 100 grams of yarn from Etsy shop Loophole (aka SixSkeins), and I won!  I chose a skein of this hand-dyed sock yarn called Limelight, and it arrived in the mail yesterday!  Isn't it beautiful?

It's so fresh and zesty and spring-ful, isn't it?  In fact, this yarn has inspired a whole bunch of new ideas for crochet patterns that I can't wait to get started on.  Good thing I've just finished my current crocheting project and ready to start a new one!

Why yes, I'm one of those literary types, why do you ask? :-)

Giveaway: Instant Canteen!

What could be a more perfect giveaway item for the summer than one of my Instant Canteens?

They're the hands-free way to stay hydrated -- an Instant Canteen ensures you'll never set your water bottle down and forget it ever again! They're great for any outing, whether you're going to the zoo or beach or hiking trail... or just the playground down the block, which is where mine goes the most. And you can enter to win this Peacock Swirl canteen for free right here!

(I sell these for $10 in my shop if you love the idea but don't like this one -- I have oodles of different fabric designs and strap colors.)

So, how can you win the Peacock Swirl canteen? There are two ways:

+ 1. Comment here listing your favorite item from my store -- www.huggermugger.etsy.com -- and either your email or blog address so I can contact you if you win.

+ 2. Post about this on your own blog. Leave a comment here with a link to your blog post, plus either your email or blog address so I can contact you if you win.

This means you can be entered twice!

Giveaway ends the morning of Friday, July 10th when I draw the winner, announce who it is here, and contact them to get their mailing address. Good luck!

Giveaway: Extraordinary Women Notebook

As promised, it's time for another giveaway! For my first giveaway of 2010, I'm giving away a composition notebook decorated with some of my original collages. It would make an awesome Valentine's Day gift for any free-spirited woman you might know... yourself, perhaps?

I'll draw the winner around 9am EST on Friday, February 5th. That means if you really do want to give it to someone for Valentine's Day, it has a good chance of getting to you before then, at least if you live in the USA.

This is a composition-sized notebook. It measures 9 3/4" (24.7cm) x 7 1/2" (19cm) and has 100 wide-ruled sheets (200 pages). You can write a lot in one of these! I use this size of notebook a lot myself because it can hold so much, and because it lays flat pretty nicely.

The front cover is a collage of pictures of six vibrant women, some of them famous (Halle Berry, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Shakira) and some not. It also has the words "extraordinary" and "decadent."

The back cover features more bold women, from Charlie's Angels to Catherine Zeta-Jones to Courtney Love, and more. The back collage also bears the words "exotic" and "playful."

Both covers are covered with clear contact paper to protect the collages from wear and tear.

I sell this size notebook for $19 in my store. How can it be your for FREE? As always, there are three ways:

+ 1. Leave a comment here listing your favorite item from my store, www.huggermugger.etsy.com , and either your email address or your blog so I can contact you if you win.

+ 2. Follow my blog. Leave a comment here letting me know you're a follower, plus either your email address or your blog so I can contact you if you win.

+ 3. Post about this on your own blog. Leave a comment here with a link to your blog post, plus either your email address or your blog so I can contact you if you win.

This means you can be entered up to three times!

Giveaway ends the morning of Friday, February 5th when I draw the winner, announce who it is here, and contact them to get their mailing address. Good luck!

Giveaway: "Denim" Purse

To celebrate Thanksgiving Day this week (and the kickoff of the Christmas season), I'm holding my second giveaway! This time around, I'm giving away this groovy purse:

You have one week to win it -- this giveaway ends on November 30th.

I've crocheted the outside of this bag from fuzzy denim-colored yarn that's a mix of acrylic/mohair/polyester. It has a nice ribbed pattern, and I've lined the bag with actual denim. The top flap fastens with a loop around a bright red- and pink-striped plastic button that says "Be happy" in purple letters.

This bag is 9" tall, 9" wide, and 2" thick. The strap is 2" wide and 39" long. That gives you plenty of room to carry around your stuff, but isn't so big and bulky it'll get in your way all the time.

How can you win this bag, worth $30? There are three ways:

Enter by midnight on November 30th! I'll draw the winner on December 1st, announce who it is here, and contact them to get their mailing address.

Sound good? I hope so. Be Happy!

You Win! You Win!

Congratulations to Shore Debris, who won the set of three Halloween votive holders!

(I let my almost-2-year-old draw the winner out of a hat, which I figured was as fair as a random number generator, since he can't read yet.)

And thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway :-) That was lots of fun, and I expect I'll do another sometime, maybe something Christmas-y in a few months....

No Trick, Just a Giveaway Treat

This hereby kicks off this blog's first giveaway!

What am I giving away? These three spooky glass candle holders! They're perfect for tea lights or small votives. Each one is 2 1/2 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches across, and 9 inches around at the top. One is decorated with spiderwebs and a tiny spider; one with a black cat, a black witch's hat, the word "Boo!," and a ghost; one with the line from Macbeth's three sisters: "Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble."

The cool thing about these, as you can see from some of the pictures, is that when they're lit, they cast shadows of their decorations on whatever surface you set them on. These make a great decoration for a table, counter, desk, etc. Add them to a centerpiece or set them up alone, whatever suits your fancy. I sold these for $5 each at a craft fair last fall, so this set is worth $15, and it can be yours for free! I'm even throwing in three free Halloween-y tealights, the ones you see in the top picture.

You see, I'm going on vacation until the 23rd, so you have until midnight that night to enter. On the 24th, I will draw the winner.

How can you be that winner? There are three ways:

Enter by midnight on the 23rd! I'll draw the winner on September 24, announce who it is here, and contact them to get their mailing address. Then I'll ship these three candle holders to the lucky winner, and that will be that! Good luck :-)

Get a Free Journal!

I've just been featured by the Ozark Scents blog -- here's a link to their post about me. There's a fun little interview, plus pics of a bunch of my items. I'm so excited that they decided to feature me!

But the really awesome part is that this feature includes a giveaway. Yup, you could win my "Off the Beaten Track" journal absolutely free! They even have ways for you to get entered in the drawing multiple times by doing things like following my blog or their blog, etc -- check out that post for the official rules. If you blog about this giveaway on your own blog, you'll actually get THREE extra entries! So go check it out right away!

Color Me Jazzed

Fellow Etsy Artiste Kid-N Around Creations is having a giveaway on her new blog that you totally need to sign up for. Among other things, she is offering one of her totally awesome crayon purses! I am so in love with these -- she has them for sale in her shop, along with crayon rolls for kids who aren't into purses. My 16-month-old, Daniel, could totally use one of these -- he's nuts about crayons right now (though he calls them 'pens') and colors on anything that strikes his fancy -- washable crayons are definitely a lifesaver around here. Anyway, a crayon roll or purse would be a great way to transport his artistic supplies without getting crayons broken or marking up stuff carried in the same bag. There's room in the purse for a pad of paper too -- how cool is that?
